Fond readers of this Blog, already know where this is going.
Most of them, have read lengthy reflections on this subject.
Therefore, this might well be my shortest essay ever!
Since I did a lot of work in advance, my task becomes very easy now.
It is simple: do not ever try to handle an audience.
Just perform your stuff, and leave them in Awe; do not bend to applause, or cheers, or other means of distracting you from your mission.
An audience that seems to appreciate your thoughts, is most likely to make fun of you.
This is not a problem, as such.
Unless, they haven't the faintest clue, what you are talking about.
Chances are, you are throwing pearls before swine, or turds in front of cuisine lovers.
Ultimately, they have to deal with you; and not otherwise.
Audiences are strange, mostly hostile, and mostly dumber then yourself.
This is - of course - no comfort to any artist.
Which is exactly, why we artists shouldn't bother at all...
There is no audience: it is just ourselves.
That is what pleases any audience; authenticity.
