Essay: Religion and Fishing...

Three followers of the Holy Message, are sitting next to a stream; they are fishing for the Truth, plus Fish. We have a Catholic priest, a Calvistinical Reformed priest, plus a Rabbi... After some time, they still didn't catch anything...

So the Catholic says: "I am done here. I'll go look for a better spot."
He packs up his gear, walks a couple of hundred yards, crosses the stream, walks another couple of yards, settles down, and within a very short while, he starts catching fish...

The Calvinist speaks to the Rabbi: "I am done here too. I will follow the Catholic."
So he packs up his gear, walks a bit, crosses the stream, settles down, etcetera...

By now, the Rabbi is about to Lose his Religion...
So he packs up, steps in the stream, and drowns...

His former buddies look at al this, while the Rabbi is taken downstream.
After hauling in another fish, the Catholic says: "He was a religious man. But why couldn't he find the stepping poles?"...
The Calvinist replies: "I guess, his faith wasn't strong enough."...

Losing my Religion...
